How to Use Animation Montage to Create a Combo Attack
This part of the Character Animation HowTo series. In this this video we are going to learn How to use animation montage to create a combo attacks.
So what are animation montage? Animation Montages are animation assets that enable you to combine animation sequences in a single asset and control playback using Blueprints.
In this tutorial
- We’ll use one of the paragon characters and quickly set it up as our player character
- we’ll create a new animation montage to be used in the existing paragon character combo setup
- we’ll learn. about montage section and animation notifies
- then I’ll explain how the animation notifies and section will be used in our blueprints

Is there a way to connect these morph animation curves to a UE5.4 Modular Control Rig? I would like to animate the morphs with modular control rig in Sequencer for animatics.
No clue on modular control rig as it's pretty new and I don't fully understand yet, but I believe curves can be set/unset from the normal control rig.

May I ask, Is there a way to make Material parameters unique to one player? Currently, if I have this material parameter in every Character Blueprint, changing one character material will change them all. Would we select the material parent, right mouse click, choose material instance and create an material instance for every player we have in the game? If we had 10 characters in the game, we would create 10 material instances from the material parent?
yeah, create several material instances and assign each to your player characters, then you can modify individual instance without affecting your other player character blueprints.

Note: Duplicate the original skeleton so you can keep importing animations for that skeleton.. then use the "Replace Skeleton" feature on the animation sequence to the rooted skeleton.

I am having trouble using Motion Matching with Mixamo animations. They dont seem to have root bones. In order to use motion matching with mixamo animations, i have to do this for EVERY animation? :/
you don't need to do this for every animation. Adding root bone for the skeleton. Check my pinned comment too.
